World of Warcraft has collected up millions of fans until now. But for a long time, there are no cheers in the community until a fan has made two videos bring the city of Stormwind and Dalaran alive in VR. But Blizzard still has no words about World of Warcraft VR even though they mentioned that last November.
World of Warcraft in VR
User Jason Trenkoski, aka Ultra, uploaded two videos which show a walking tour through two prominent cities of “World of Warcraft,” Dalaran and Stormwind. Actually these videos were created by Puffycheeks for HTC Vive using Unity for a project called VR Gameworlds.
Puffycheeks has expressed that he doesn’t own the assets in this project, and that it’s owned by Blizzard Entertainment. And he also confirmed that this content is not for sale or distribution. But as Blizzard barely allows fan projects that use its IPS to exist, like vanilla WoW servers, many players worry that WOW in VR could get shut down any time.
Anyway, virtual reality (VR) experience adds a whole new feeling of awe and wonder to World of Warcraft, for 2D experience restricts players’ sense of scale for a long time.
Blizzard is looking at VR
The VR experience is not playable, but as a concept, it is absolutely amazing. Last November, Blizzard mentioned in an interview that they were looking at launching some of their franchises in VR. But until now, Blizzard has no any word about World of Warcraft VR.
Currently, players can download the Stormwind walkthrough, the Dalaran walkthrough as well as an Orgrimmar walkthrough. With no doubt, this project makes VR and WOW players closer. So it is necessary to bring World of Warcraft in VR. For more updates about WOW in VR, we will keep posted. Besides, we are always here to provide you cheapest wow gold as well.
